The Red Victorian was an experiment in whether a hotel could also be a household: paying guests and long-term residents sharing meals, events and the running of the place. The building dates to 1904 and has been a center for counterculture in San Francisco for most of the time since.

I was one of the founding residents in 2013.

Outcome

Established as a hub for community events, art exhibitions and gatherings, in a building with a century of history as a center for counterculture.
